We were new to this region and found the Guide helpful even before we set out as it has colourful photos, a useful map tucked in the back cover, and nineteen suggestions for excursions by car and train from various starting points. We stayed east of Malaga where there are, admittedly, fewer possibilities for days out, but we still found concise information in this Guide to help us visit mountain villages plus the 'Tropical Coast' and have a day's sightseeing in Malaga itself. For those staying near Marbella there seems to be plenty of helpful advice about places to visit; even a trip to Gibraltar is explained. With brief chapters on the history and culture of the region as well as practical advice of an everyday nature this inexpensive little book was a great help and is recommended.

Disappointed with this guide. Its OK for limited car touring- anything not on a pre set car tour is barely mentioned. I would and could not recommend this as a comprehensive guide for the region.
